A Soul become Music
The philosopher Eric Hoffer wrote that "it is the stretched soul that makes music," and continued that, "souls are stretched by the pull of opposites--opposite bents, tastes, yearnings, loyalties.
When, at dawn, I hear the rooster cry,
I know my working day is nigh.
But his crowing voice to my soul at eventide,
Whispers peace, happiness and quiet.
Roberto Ruscitti
The music of Roberto Ruscitti gives meaning to his life. As a soloist he reveals his soul; as a composer he surrenders it to us.
With his enormous gift, he proves himself a consumate artist with an unmistakable style. He received the "Premio Nacional de música Clásica de Venezuela" in three consecutive years and proved himself worthy of the "Copa Presidente de la República 'Raúl Leoni'".
Venezuelan tenor Carlos Almenar Otero described him as "a true virtuoso on the piano; the dexterity of his hands, obtained through long years of practice, combined with a great passion as interpreter, make [him]& difficult to equal.
Through him, the joropo and Venezuelan Waltz acquire new dimensions, to demand a prominent position in the vast worldwide field of music.
Also as a composer does Roberto Ruscitti surprise and garner admiration,& for example, listen carefully to Madrugada llanera, El Ruiseñor and you will agree we have not exagerated a mite."
Magical Music
The English director, Sir Thomas Beecham observed:
"Great music is that which penetrates the ear with facility and leaves the memory with difficulty. Magical music never leaves the memory."
Rather, that music makes us dream.
It carries us away from our crude reality and evokes a world of daydreams, a world of peace; with his lullaby "Ninna Nanna" he evokes for us a world that only babies know; with "Oración de un pecador" he takes us to that world of spiritual peace that is earned only after long suffering.
Abraham Maslow said that, "A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be."
Roberto Ruscitti is musician, please allow him to speak through his music...
